Stage 2

Stage 2:

So your little one has mastered the art of sitting up right and eating with spoon? You both need a round of applause. It wasn’t easy trying and tasting and  all those new flavors but you remained strong and now we are ready to move to the next stage.

Food in Stage 2  is about understanding different flavors and moving to the next step in texture i.e pureed food.  The baby is still  learning to eat with  the spoon and develop oral muscle and mechanism to swallow thicker foods and not drink only.

Stage 2 foods are:

  1. Pureed.
  2. Combination of two or more fruits and vegetables with meats or grain
  3. Intended to help baby learn to eat and swallow thicker consistency
  4. To help increase exposure to different flavors

We recommend that you offer Stage 2 baby food at least 2 times a day. As these food are still low in calories they do not replace the need for milk.

If the baby is unable to finish the serving in one setting, you can always use it at the next meal time. You can add these to  your favorite grain or sugar free cereal or yogurt.
